Missouri Air Permit Types

Missouri's Air Pollution Control (APC) program utilizes several different types of permits within their construction and operating permit programs. Below is a summary of those different types of permits and the labels APC uses for each type of permit.

Construction Permits

Missouri's Air Pollution Control (APC) program issues several types of construction permits which can be categorized into one of the following: major, minor, de minimis, portable relocation, temporary, and permits-by-rule. APC uses the following labels for each construction permit type:

Major Construction Permits: Construction Permit: Prevention of Significant Deterioration

Minor Construction Permits: Construction Permit: Minor

De Minimis Construction Permits: Construction Permit: De Minimis

Portable Relocation Permits: Construction Permit: Portable Plant

Temporary Construction Permits: Construction Permit: Temporary

Permits-by-Rule: Construction Permit: Permit-by-Rule

Operating Permits

APC issues two types of operating permits: Intermediate and Part 70. APC uses the following labels for each operating permit type:

Intermediate Operating Permits: Operating Permit: Intermediate
Note: Occasionally, APC uses the label "Non-Title V Operating" for the same type of permit.

Part 70 Operating Permits: Operating Permit: Part 70
Note: Occasionally, APC uses the label "Title V Operating" for the same type of permit.

If a permit isn't required, APC will issue the documentation with the label of No Permit Required.
